- Draguignan
Draguignan is located in the Provence Verte, a tourist region in the Var department. The old county town has a strong Provencal culture, with its historic centre built around the Tour de l’Horloge. You can walk through the alleys and streets to discover monuments and tourist attractions. The dolmen of “La pierre de la fée” is a prehistoric relic, while the Saint-Sauveur chapel dates from the Middle Ages and belonged to the Knights Hospitallers of Saint John of Jerusalem. The Rhône memorial and the American cemetery recall the D-Day landings in Provence, a major battle of the Second World War.
The town of Draguignan has a privileged location in the Nartuby valley. Hiking enthusiasts, whether beginners or experienced, can follow many marked trails. Provence Verte also offers numerous routes to follow by bike, mountain bike or horseback, and is known for its climbing sites. As for the terroir of Provence, it is an invitation to gourmet pleasures, with sun-drenched fruit and vegetables, honey sweets and many other tasty specialities to be discovered on the local markets or in restaurants.

The Artillery Museum
The Artillery Museum is attached to the Artillery School of Draguignan. It presents the evolution of artillery weapons through the centuries. Its impressive collections include numerous weapons and reproductions, from the first ancient jet weapons to the most modern guns of the end of the 20th century.
A visit to the museum allows you to better understand the evolution of these weapons and their role in ancient and modern combat.
The Rhone American Cemetery and Memorial
Provence was marked by fighting during the Second World War. In August 1944, American and French troops landed on the French Riviera to support the military effort in Normandy. The confrontations were violent, and many soldiers died.
The Rhone American Cemetery and Memorial has 861 burials. This place of memory and remembrance attracts many visitors, families and descendants of soldiers who died for France and for freedom.
The Provence Verte (the Green Provence)
Provence Verte is a very popular tourist destination. This natural region has many rivers, including the Argens, and is renowned for its wooded landscapes, valleys and typical villages.
